Renaming of Campoverde Golf Society

In answer to Jim Millin's quote of ' if it aint broke why fix it ?
The whole point Jim, is that is was broke.The whole Society was due to fold because of a lack of administrators.
Charlie Chaplin and the new committee have done a brilliant job since taking over, making everything organized
and transparent.For this reason they should be credited with the improved changes, and the name should change
in accordance with those changes.

Now to business:

I have been a member of this Society since it's conception and the name has always been appropriate.

Unfortunately since the injection of politics and egos it would seem no longer to be suitable.

Well, for what it is worth from a member who has no vested interest but to enjoy a game of golf with like minded people once a fortnight....."if it ain't broke, why fix it"?

You will recall that during the recent AGM a vote was taken regarding the possible renaming of the Society. The majority voted to retain the current name. Despite this, the new committee still feels strongly in favour of calling the society THE NEW CAMPOVERDE GOLF SOCIETY, in order to differentiate themselves from the previous 'administration'. A new constitution is close to completion and the committee proposes to put the issue of a name-change to the vote once more.
